Developmental psychologists study the stages of human development in the course of life from prenatal period to death. They are interested in identifying, explaining, and measuring age-related behavioral changes. They work on universal qualities of, cultural and individual differences in development. Undergraduate and graduate students can work as a developmental psychologist in nursery and daycare centers, other preschool institutions, hospitals, and clinics. They also carry out activities such as guiding elderly people in residential homes and other centers to specified goals and evaluating programs implemented for adolescents and the youth in orphanages and nursing homes.
