General Overview

Hacettepe University Department of Psychology was established in 1964. The department, which had its first graduates in 1968, still continue teaching at undergraduate, graduate and doctorate level. Our department, which ranks first among the psychology departments of the state universities whose education language is Turkish in our country, has been maintaining its education and teaching program with its extensive and competent staff in the direction of its aims. Our department aims to educate qualified psychologists who are able to work in the applied and theoretical fields of psychology, and to contribute to solution of current problems by transferring the produced psychology knowledge to all areas of life. In the department, a universal psychology education taking into account new developments in the field and needs of our country has been given. The Undergraduate Program of our department has been accredited for 7 years in 2012 by the Supreme Board of Accreditation of Turkish Psychological Association authorized by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK).

The department is organized in five academic subfields: Clinical Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Experimental Psychology, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Social Psychology
